Violence Against WOMEN

STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN!

INTRODUCTION:

What is meant by VIOLENCE?
The term ''VIOLENCE'' defined as the use of physical force to injure, abuse, damage, or destroy the person. About one-third of the 5.8 million death all over the world are caused by injuries are the results of violence each year. It's time for action to end violence against women! HOW WOMEN PROTECT THEMSELVES?? Fighting back against rapists and abusers is a valid legal defense. To stop this, the most important step is we should know about the different ways of violence. So, let's talk about the most common types of violence:

TYPES OF VIOLENCE:

  • Economic violence (economic violence take the form of, for example, property damage)
  • Domestic violence.
  • Sexual harassment.
  • Acid throwing.
  • Rape.
  • Online gender-based violence.
SOME TRADITIONAL VIOLENCE:
  • Honor killing.
  • Forced marriage
VIOLENCE CONDONED BY GOVERNMENT:
  • Violence by the police.
  • War rape.

HISTORY:

The history of violence against women remains unsettled in the scientific literature because many kinds of violence against women were under-reported.

CAUSES OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN:

  • Limits to women in public and private life.
  • The regular use of alcohol by the man has been strongly affected by women.
  • Some cultural and religious practices.
  • Lack of education.
  • FAMILY FACTOR: Father beating the mother in front of their children, is a predictor of violence against his wife in adulthood.

DO WE HAVE SOLUTION??

According to the UN, there is no region of the world, no country, and no culture in which women's freedom from violence has been secured. Legislation by itself is not enough because violence against women is a deeply rooted social problem all over the world, but legislation is necessary and essential hence that it may have educative factors and give that push.
Ending violence against women and girls is not a short term effort. It requires a coordinated struggle from all of us.
